Davis, California, February 27, 2017 This 2017 version is Sendero's 21st release, continuing our 17 year journey of accessible maps and GPS.
Save fuel Choosing the shortest route and having the latest information about POIs at your disposal saves fuel – and money.
According to a study, updating your navigation system can save you up to € 400 a year. Drive more safely Distractions are reduced and the system is easy to use, ensuring safer driving.
Whether this be additional POIs, alternative voices, the latest navigation software or add-ons for the already existing navigation software: the Assistant Store offers just the right and compatible items for your sat nav, so that you always know precisely what options are open to you to expand your Go Pal sat nav.
Maps Indoors CMS is our custom-built content management system that allows you to add, edit and control location-based data in your indoor mapping solution.
See here: All your downloaded files MUST be in the same directory, i.e. C:\Garmin\POI\Safety C:\Garmin\POI\Tourist_Locations C:\Garmin\POI\Shopping C:\Garmin\POI\Restaurants .................etc When you use the POI Loader, it loads everything into a single file called POI.
GPI Then download the POI's you want to use into the relevant folds we just created. I try where possible (but be aware these may be different for you) to download the -"Garmin POI BMP" -"Garmin WAV (Audio alert for Nuvi 2xx models)" (you might have to use the MP3 file instead of the WAV) -"Garmin GPX (proximity alert, phone dial, etc." setting the proximity distance to whatever you want).
Updates to all products are best managed from your Sendero Maps software on the Windows PC, which comes free with new Braille Note GPS or Sense Nav GPS purchases.
This is by far the easiest way to upgrade as well as an excellent tool to use in conjunction with your PDA or mobile device such as Seeing Eye GPS for the i Phone.
I've got a Garmin Nuvi 255W, but I shouldn't think the procedure would be very different on any Garmin model. I find it's then best to create subfolders for the POI sections on this site (only those you know you'll download are fine), eg "Road Safety", "Tourist locations", etc.
Next create a folder on your computer, I label mine "Custom POIs" just where you keep your other GPS files, manuals, etc will be fine.
The Braille Note and Braille Sense GPS products have updated 2017 maps and POIs.
