They first started out producing bricks to help rebuild structures damaged by the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, under the name Haeger Brick and Tile Company.
Its products include dinnerware, giftware, cookware, porcelain, glassware, collectables, jewellery, linens, curtains and lighting.
Three of its brands were Royal Doulton, Royal Albert and Mintons. Rosey Hill must lie close to an 18th-century stoneware manufacturing site, possibly the pottery referenced in historical documents as being operated by the Philadelphia merchant, William Richards, in the 1770s.back to top From the mid-1760s until his death in 1787, Richards was a prominent figure in the commerce of the Lamberton waterfront and Lower Delaware Valley, involved in fishing and the trading of a wide range of import and export goods, in addition to pottery manufacturing.Hundreds of printed patterns were produced, and these patterns formed distinctive decorative styles based on central motifs and borders.Using characteristics of datable, marked vessels as a database, this study establishes a chronology for dating printed earthenwares based on decorative styles and color.These brands are now owned by WWRD Holdings Ltd (Waterford Crystal, Wedgwood, Royal Doulton), based in Barlaston near Stoke-on-Trent.
